As a start-up, ifndautoparts is a family-owned and founder-led company. We operate with a lean, highly collaborative structure and work closely with specialist contractors and development partners to deliver projects and scale the platform.
As we expand our business seller network, we are looking for an experienced Senior Integration Engineer to help businesses connect their inventory systems directly to the ifndautoparts marketplace.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on helping business sellers connect and synchronise their inventory with the ifndautoparts marketplace.
You will work directly with the founders, onboarding team, and external development partners to help shape the future of seller integrations across the platform.
THE ROLE
As our Senior Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between external inventory systems and the ifndautoparts marketplace.
When a new business seller joins ifndautoparts, you will assess their existing systems and determine the most efficient way to connect their inventory, product catalogue, images, stock levels, pricing, and vehicle compatibility data to our platform.
You will act as the technical lead during seller onboarding, helping businesses determine the most effective way to connect their inventory to ifndautoparts.
You will build scalable and reusable integration solutions where appropriate, helping future business sellers onboard faster and with less manual intervention.
This role combines software engineering, systems architecture, API development, data mapping, automation, and technical problem-solving.
Seller Connectivity & Onboarding
A core responsibility of this role is determining how business sellers connect their inventory to ifndautoparts.
The goal is to identify the most effective onboarding approach for each seller, whether that involves API connectivity, bulk uploads, existing integrations, middleware solutions, or building reusable integrations where there is long-term value.
Seller API
Supporting businesses and developers who wish to integrate directly with the ifndautoparts Seller API.
This includes:
-Inventory synchronisation
-Listing creation and updates
-Pricing updates
-Stock management
-Image management
-Ongoing system connectivity
Bulk Uploads & Data Imports
Helping businesses onboard inventory through:
-CSV files
-Excel spreadsheets
-Product feeds
-Inventory exports
-Data mapping and transformation
Existing Integrations
Supporting and maintaining existing connectivity solutions and integrations where available.
This may include existing integrations, custom-built integrations, data feeds, middleware solutions, or direct API connectivity depending on the seller's requirements.
Future Integration Development
Identifying opportunities to create reusable integration solutions for commonly used ecommerce platforms, inventory systems, and automotive software providers.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future integration ecosystem of ifndautoparts and determining the most effective onboarding approach for each business seller.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Seller Integrations
-Review onboarding questionnaires submitted by new business sellers.
-Assess seller inventory systems, ecommerce platforms, and technical capabilities.
-Determine the most effective integration strategy for each seller.
-Work directly with seller technical contacts and development teams where required.
-Configure, implement, test, and maintain seller integrations.
-Utilise and extend the ifndautoparts Seller API to support business seller onboarding and inventory synchronisation.
-Assist external developers and technical contacts in integrating with the ifndautoparts API.
-Troubleshoot onboarding and synchronisation issues.
-Ensure business sellers can efficiently upload and maintain inventory on the platform.
-Identify opportunities to create reusable integration solutions for commonly used -platforms and systems.
-Improve and streamline seller onboarding through automation and technical innovation.
Platform Development & Automation
-Contribute directly to the ifndautoparts Ruby on Rails codebase.
-Build tools and automation that improve seller onboarding and inventory management.
-Design and maintain scalable inventory synchronisation processes.
-Build and maintain integrations using APIs, webhooks, data feeds, imports, and exports.
-Monitor and optimise integration performance and reliability.
-Collaborate with external development partners to ensure solutions are scalable, -maintainable, and production-ready.
-Follow established GitLab workflows, testing practices, and deployment processes.
-Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
Technology Stack
The successful candidate will work directly within the ifndautoparts platform and contribute to a modern cloud-based architecture supporting web, mobile, and marketplace services.

Experience working with Ruby on Rails and API-driven systems is highly desirable, as the successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain production-ready integrations directly within the ifndautoparts platform.
Required Skills & Experience
-5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
-Strong Ruby on Rails development experience.
-PostgreSQL database experience.
-Experience building and maintaining API integrations.
-Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
-Experience supporting or developing customer-facing APIs.
-Strong understanding of webhooks and event-driven systems.
-Experience working with JSON, XML, CSV, and data imports.
-Experience integrating third-party ecommerce, inventory, or business systems.
-Experience working with AWS-based environments.
-Docker experience.
-Git and GitLab experience.
-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to independently manage technical projects and integrations.
Highly Desirable
-Marketplace platform experience.
-Ecommerce platform integration experience.
-Experience integrating platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, BigCommerce, Linnworks, ERP systems, inventory management systems, or custom software.
-Experience building inventory synchronisation systems.
-Sidekiq and Redis experience.
-Elasticsearch experience.
-Terraform experience.
Automotive industry knowledge is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will regularly work with vehicle and parts data, including:
-Automotive inventory catalogues.
-OEM and aftermarket part numbers.
-Vehicle compatibility and fitment information.
-Breaker and dismantler inventory systems.
-Automotive ecommerce platforms.
-Product categorisation and taxonomy.
-A genuine interest in cars, automotive parts, and the automotive aftermarket industry will be a significant advantage.
-Candidates who can understand automotive inventory and compatibility data will be particularly valuable when building integrations, mapping seller inventory, and working with business sellers.
