Lead Ruby on Rails Developer
Full-Time | Fully Remote (U.S.)
We are currently seeking a talented Lead Ruby on Rails developer who enjoys learning new technologies, solving challenging problems, and building quality software.
In this role, you will work with a small team of highly experienced developers to design, build, launch, and maintain web applications for a variety of clients across many industries. You will be expected to contribute ideas, participate in our agile process, learn new skills, step outside your comfort zone, and write excellent code.

Our team has supported remote work since 2012 and has been fully remote since 2019. We have employees across the United States including MO, AZ, CO, NM, MT, NC, MI, ME, OR, IA, IL, and others. Our clients are located throughout the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality code
- Document your code
- Test your code
- Peer review code written by other team members
- Participate via webcam in regular stand-up and sprint planning meetings
- Maintain regular working hours and accurately track time and work
- Take a self-directed approach to learning new skills and solving problems
- Remain knowledgeable about security issues and best practices
- Request support from team members and provide support in return
- Meet and exceed expectations
Required Experience and Skills
- 5 or more years of experience developing web applications in Ruby on Rails
- Excellent proficiency with CSS, SASS, or LESS
- Excellent proficiency with modern JavaScript
- Excellent proficiency with Git
- Strong attention to detail
- Empathy for users
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working with the Unix command line
- Fluent in English
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with React or Angular
- Experience with Docker
- Familiarity with AWS
- Passion for creating strong visual interfaces
- Proficiency with SQL and database fundamentals
- Experience with other modern web frameworks such as Django, NextJS, Express, or Laravel
